Remembering Abdul Nasir Shah.
A True Friend and Colleague
The shocking news of the passing of Abdul Nasir Shah has left me deeply saddened. He was not just a colleague but a dear friend with whom I shared an unbreakable bond for the last two decades. His departure is a profound loss, not only to me but to all who knew him.
Our professional paths often crossed. When I served at the EDO office Chitral, Nasir Shah was posted at Government Higher Secondary School Drosh, and during that time, we frequently met at the school. In 2012, after my transfer to Subdivisional Education Office Booni, he replaced me as ADO (Establishment) at EDO Office Chitral. With the upgrading of Upper Chitral as a separate district, he assumed the charge of ADEO Establishment (Male), serving with dedication and commitment.
Even after my retirement, our friendship remained strong. Whenever we met in Booni, Nasir Shah always greeted me with a warm smile and genuine affection. His kind nature and positive attitude made him a cherished companion.
I recall advising him many times—along with other colleagues—to quit smoking, but he and others took it lightly. Unfortunately, this habit led to lung cancer, which ultimately proved fatal. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how certain habits can cut a life short.
Nasir Shah was a dedicated professional, a kind-hearted friend, and a warm presence in our lives. His loss has left a void that cannot be filled. I pray that his noble soul rests in eternal peace. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength to his family to bear this immense loss.
